ACER palmatum cultivars
Last updated 12/12/2017

As a prelude to constructing a full index, this is the next step! To save you having to scroll through pages and pages of acers to find out whether we grow the one you want, this will take you to the first cultivar beginning with each letter of the alphabet. (I fear this may be one of those tasks I live to regret starting...)

Thus, click on the green names at the start of each row to take you to the first cultivar of Acer palmatum starting with that letter.

Of course this apparently simple solution shows its flaws when one considers the cultivars of Acer palmatum dissectum. So I will come back to this task and add a list of the cultivars included there. Bear with me!

As an after thought, whilst I was "at it", I've also linked from the cultivar list below through to the first entry on a page. There, that should make life easier! (I'm trying to forget that I need to do this for Cornus and Magnolias too...)

And lastly I've added the cultivars of Acer shirasawanum to the bottom of the page. This species is very close to Acer palmatum and indeed there are a number of hybrids between them. Why some of those are categorised under A. palmatum and some under A. shirasawanum is one of life's mysteries I'm afraid! One job always leads to another...I suppose logic dictates that if I'm adding A. shirasawanum cultivars, then I should do the same for Acer japonicum...
